It has been reported in the media that Shailesh Lodha, who played the title role of Taarak Mehta in Asit Kumarr Modi’s Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has been waiting for his payment for over a year. However, sources close to the production house claim that the accusation is unfounded, and the production house reached out to the actor several times to clear his dues.
A source from the production house shared, “Every company has a system in place and those associated with it are expected to follow it. The production house has not stopped dues of any artiste to date. Shailesh Lodha will get his dues, but he needs to do closure and sign the papers.”

While producer Asit Kumarr Modi couldn’t be reached for comment, Suhel Ramani, project head of the show, told us, “Despite repeated communication to sign papers and collect his pending payment, Shailesh did not. When you leave any company or show, there is always a procedure that needs to be followed and fulfilled. Every artiste, staff, and technician needs to complete these formalities. No company will release the payment before completing the formalities.”
For the unversed, Shailesh left the show abruptly in 2022 after being a part of it for 14 years. The decision apparently was a result of growing differences between him and the makers.
