Ram Gopal Varma feels Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Pathaan’ put a brake to the south wave in Bollywood | Hindi Movie News
Opening up about the same, Ram Gopal Varmasaid that one thing ‘Pathaan’ did was to put a brake on this whole South wave. According to him, there was this perception that there was more acceptance for South films and that no Bollywood film is going to work anymore.
This was when ‘Kantara’, ‘RRR’ and ‘KGF – Chapter 2’ were doing wonders at the box office. However, ‘Pathaan’ stopped that myth as a blockbuster was delivered by a Hindi film star, Hindi director and Hindi producer.Elaborating further, RGV added that it is a film that works and that it has nothing to do with the South and North. According to him, people have a tendency to label things. He added that whether SS Rajamouli is born in Gujarat or Odisha, he’ll still make the same film!
Spilling some beans on his upcoming projects, the filmmaker said that he is planning to take the ‘Darna Mana Hai‘ and ‘Darna Zaroori Hai‘ franchise forward. However, he refrained from sharing any details. RGV also added that he is currently working on a political thriller and he is in talks to make a Hindi film in the next few months.
