Director Karan Johar on Tuesday held the first screening of ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. For the big premiere of the film that also marks his return to the director’s chair, he called over his BFFs from the film industry and they all showed up in large numbers.
Shabana Azmi who will also feature in a prominent role, attended the premiere with Javed Akhtar while Jaya Bachchan brought along daughter Shweta Bachchan and son Abhishek Bachchan.
An inside video from the grand event has been doing the rounds online. The clip sees Shweta gifting Ranveer with a funky necklace which the actor seemed very happy to receive.
Ranveer, who plays Jaya’s grandson in the film, was seen bubbling with excitement as Shweta hooked the statement jewellery around his neck.
“I’ve been knighted,” Singh said before going on to rap a few lines and hug Shweta.
In the film, Ranveer plays the grandson to Jaya’s character. The actor shares quite a few emotional scenes with the veteran, as does Alia.
Following the screening, social media has been filled with great reviews about the film. Besides raving about KJo, many celebs have praised Ranveer and Alia for upping their game and providing the audience with wholesome entertainment.
‘RARKPK’ is slated to hit the big screens on Friday, July 28.
